So Why Do Are So Many Jewish People A Part Of Christmas Celebrations?

Most of the popular Christmas carols were written by Jews. Don’t believe me? Do some research and you’ll see. Barbara Streisand did a few Christmas albums. John Denver, too. Barry Manilow has sang Christmas songs. Michael Bolton. Other Jewish music artists have, as well. In “Elf”, starring Will Farrell, James Caan, a Jew, stars as a Christian. Jewish actor Edward Asner also starred in that movie. Jewish actor Jeffrey Tambor played in “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, starring Jim Carrey. Asner dressed as Santa Claus on Jay Leno’s show the other night. Yes, Jesus Christ was Jewish when he lived on the earth. He always kept the Jewish beliefs and doctrines, observed the Sabbath, Passover, etc. Yet, the Jewish people don’t believe He is the TRUE Son of God, which He IS! This is just a question why Jewish actors, singers, and other celebs engage in Christmas celebrations.
Spread the GOOD NEWS that the Messiah, the Savior, Jesus Christ, was born!!! Celebrate this during the Holiday Season, and all through the year that we have a chance to be in Heaven someday, because of that blessed birth in Bethlehem!! We are all sinners, and all fall short from God’s grace, but we can still make it, because of the world’s greatest gift!!!

    Maybe because Christmas is a bigger holiday during December. Some of the people you mentioned, I didn’t know were Jewish…John Denver and Michael Bolton are Jewish? I really like listening to Christmas music and checkout a bunch from the local library starting in early November. They have a large selection so I’m familiar with most of the Christmas music out there. I’ve listened to Denver’s and Bolton’s christmas cds. But 2 that you mentioned who are Jewish…Barbra Streisand and Barry Manilow…have not only done 1 Christmas cd…they both have done 2. Maybe they do it for commercial purposes…not sure if they’ve also recorded Hannukah music also. Just like 2 other Jews…Neil Diamond and Carly Simon have recorded Christmas cds…and again not sure if they’ve recorded Hannukah music also.

    I think they’re part because during this time of year, many, if not most people are in the spirit of giving/sharing. For example, two of my closest friends are jewish, and I try to incorporate them in a lot of things christmas wise because they want to learn about my traditions and in return I get to learn about theirs & plus, its always fun to have many friends or family with you during any celebration.

    Good question, there is a group out now, it’s been around for quite a while called Jews for Jesus, they do believe that Jesus was the son of God. However in this case I believe the actors and actresses only look at the part, not what it represents. Christmas albums sell really well also therefore make a christmas cd.

    Many Jewish people do not follow Judaism. In other words they are not religious.

    Didn’t think so.
    Taking the position of Devil’s Advocate…what makes you think that Christianity in any form is the “true”religion, when there are religions out there that have been around longer, and their believers outnumber Christians by 20:1 or more! (Hinduism being one.)
    Anyway…why are Jews writing/singing carols? Simple…they are being PAID to do so.
    In any case…all the blessings of the season be upon you…regardless of what your god of choice is.
